call me a renegade but I am here to clean up this town. The sheriff and
his deputy are corrupt. They have let the outlaws run wild in this
little western town. To make matters worse, no one even knows who the
deputy is - not even the sheriff. The men who challenge you to duels or
shoot at you in the streets in broad daylight could be outlaws or one
of them could be the deputy. There is no way to be certain until their
dead bodies are collected.
Today Sean Mallory shot at me in broad daylight. I was able to hide behind a barrel and let the bullet whiz past me. He was too far away for me to shoot - my gun just wasn’t good enough. The sheriff came out to see what was happening and gosh darn it, that man shot me. He first kicked the barrel I was using as cover and then shot me. He didn’t kill me. He only had the one shot. While I lay bleeding, waiting for my opportunity to drink some beer to regain my strength, another hot shot came out into the street.
It was Willy the Kid, the fastest shot in town. He shot at the sheriff and then at me. He hit us both. I wasn’t dead but I could only take one more shot before it was all over for me. The Kid laughed and sang, “I shot the sheriff and and I may have shot the deputy.”
Funny that the Kid thought I may be the deputy. I hadn’t shot at that stupid sheriff yet. I wanted to clean up the playing field first. The sheriff needs to see that his town can be cleaned up and that his deputy is no better than a common outlaw. Then, I will kill the sheriff - but not before then.
Elana Fuente came into the fray and shot at the sheriff before hopping onto her mustang and riding just out of his gun range. Sean turned on Willy the Kid and got a good shot in. Perhaps he was the deputy - he hadn’t taken a shot at the sheriff since I arrived in town. I had a chance to drink a beer and grab a bigger gun before taking my next shot. Elana was too far away from me to hit still but I had a straight shot to Willy now.
He had been shot a few times before I got to him. He went down when I shot him. And sure enough, when we examined him and went through his belongings, we were able to determine that he was an outlaw and not the deputy. I was pretty certain at this point that Sean was the deputy. As I hadn’t shot the sheriff either, I was sure the sheriff and Elana couldn’t tell if it was me or Sean that was the deputy. I had to kill Elana before she could kill Sean. The sheriff needed to keep thinking I might be a deputy. He wouldn’t hold back if he thought I was an outlaw.
The sheriff didn’t shoot at me for quite a few rounds, he wasn’t sure who I was. I couldn’t reach Elana still so I waited while she shot at the sheriff and Sean shot at her. Thankfully, she went down before Sean did. Another examination of another body and it was another outlaw. Now it was time for me to focus on Sean.
The stupid sheriff took pot shots at each of us. He didn’t know who was the deputy and who was the renegade so he wouldn’t kill us - but he kept us both weak. Just like a corrupt sheriff to do. It took a long time but I finally took down Sean. That was when the sheriff found out his deputy had died. He was angry and I was weak. I had to make sure he missed when he shot at me so I would have a chance to kill him. I stole another barrel and took cover behind it.
It was a crazy move, but I called on the local indians to raid the town. The sheriff was out of bullets and took a hit from one of the riders. He was woozy on his feet. I took the opportunity to challenge him to a duel. Being an honorable idiot, he took the challenge but had nothing to shoot back with. He looked like he could take only one more shot and I had just one more shot. I took a chance and shot at him.
Somehow, he made me miss. But he had nothing in his arsenal to come at me with. He brought out a Volcanic gun next but never shot at me. I took another shot at him and he went down. I had killed them all - the outlaws, the deputy, the sheriff. I won the day and cleaned up this little town.
